Prior to opening his own firm, he worked for a large multi-state litigation firm based in Miami, gaining valuable insight to the workings of insurance companies and how they evaluate personal injury and workers compensation claims. Mr. Maus has tried over 60 jury trials to verdict and was recently lead counsel in one of the largest overtime wage claim class action settlements in the country. He has been the lead accident claims lawyer representing injured victims throughout south Florida, as well as, in Naples, Fort Myers and Orlando.
Mr. Maus has successfully argued before the 3rd District Court of Appeals, The United States District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. He is currently admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Southern and Middle District of Florida, and all Florida State Courts. Mr. Maus is also very active in the community. He previously served as the Mayor of the City of Oakland Park, and also served for three years on the City Commission. Mr. Maus is currently a member of the Broward County Charter Review Committee, having been appointed by the Broward County Commission. He previously served on the Broward County Planning Council and the County.s Resource Recovery Board. He is the former President of The Hundred Club of Broward County, a non-profit group that supports the families of police officers and firefighters killed or seriously injured in the line of duty. He is the Vice Chairman of the St. Anthony School Advisory Board, and is a member of the St. Anthony Foundation for Education. He is also a member of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, and has sat on several committees for the Broward County Bar Association.
